Sylmar-based construction contractor Tutor Perini Corp. recently announced a pair of nine-figure Northern California contracts for one of its subsidiaries.
The combined total of this new work is $408 million.
The bigger of the two Rudolph and Sletten contracts at $253 million involves expanding the central utility plant at University of California-Davis’ health care campus in Sacramento.
The project includes construction of a new two-story, 32,000-square-foot annex building that will feature three new generators, as well as numerous upgrades to the existing utility plant.
Work is already underway, with the substantial completion of the prohect anticipated during the fall of 2027.
Performing arts project
The other Rudolph and Sletten project is a $155 million building for the Diego Rivera Performing Arts Center on the City College of San Francisco campus.
The 78,000-square-foot facility will include a 631-seat main performing arts center, a 90 fixed-seat recital hall, and rehearsal spaces.
The front entrance of the facility will also house the Diego Rivera Pan American Unity mural that the Mexican artist and muralist created for the 1940 Golden Gate International Exposition in San Francisco.
