Alexis Zamarripa, MSN, RN, HACP, began her nursing career at PIH Health Whittier Hospital in 1997 as a bedside nurse, before transitioning to critical care, where she served as assistant clinical director. Zamarripa later took on the role of clinical nurse educator, assisting with the development and implementation of nursing policies, and served as a clinical placement coordinator for college nursing programs in the surrounding community.
In April 2024, Zamarripa took on her current role as chief nursing officer at PIH Health Downey Hospital. She brings her nearly three decades of nursing experience, strong clinical background in acute care, passion for education, and regulatory knowledge to advance the care and enhance the safety of the patients and community that PIH Health Downey Hospital serves.
