Michele Cumpston is a fierce advocate for her clients and a respected negotiator among her peers. Cumpston, a partner in Kirkland & Ellis’ Los Angeles office, focuses her practice in the areas of mergers and acquisitions, private equity and corporate governance. Her clients include some of the biggest names in private equity, both in Los Angeles and globally, including Oaktree Capital Management, H.I.G. Capital and Francisco Partners, among others.
In the past 18 months, Cumpston has led or played a significant role in deals whose aggregate exceed $10 billion. She represents buyers, sellers, private equity funds and their portfolio companies and financial institutions in a variety of complex M&A transactions.
