Sarah Brooks is a partner in Venable’s Intellectual Property Litigation Practice and focuses her practice on intellectual property disputes, including patent and trademark disputes in U.S. District Court and before the USPTO. She also serves as Venable’s Los Angeles office hiring partner and, through her work as chair of the hiring committee, enjoys mentoring young lawyers.
Brooks also volunteers for Public Counsel and provides pro bono work in children’s rights, immigration, and guardianship matters. She was on the board of the Los Angeles Intellectual Property Association for eight years and served as its president from 2019 to 2020. She currently serves as judge pro temp in LA Superior Court through the LA County Bar Association. Brooks also led the Venable team that co-counseled with the ACLU and Civil Rights Corp., achieving a historic settlement in a litigation pending in the Eastern District of Louisiana against District Attorney Leon Cannizzarro.
