NONPROFIT CELEBRATIONS: Discovery Cube Los Angeles

Discovery Cube Los Angeles is a beacon of the community in Sylmar, California. Opening its doors in 2014, the science center has been providing handson STEM education, focusing on engaging young minds through innovative science-based programs and exhibits that ignite a love for STEM and empower the next generation of problem solvers.

Discovery Cube Los Angeles’ 11th annual fundraising gala took place on Saturday, May 3, at the science museum’s Sylmar campus. As a nonprofit organization, Discovery Cube relies heavily on the support of donors, volunteers, and community partners to continue its mission of inspiring and educating the children of greater Los Angeles.

Hundreds of attendees gathered to support the Cube’s mission and the trifecta of science education as we INSPIRE, EDUCATE, and IMPACT the children of Los Angeles.

This year’s Derby Day celebration invited guests to dress with flair while honoring key community leaders who play a vital role in helping Discovery Cube fulfill its mission. The event recognized Los Angeles County Supervisor Kathryn Barger and LA City and County Firefighters for their outstanding support of Discovery Cube Los Angeles. Each was presented with an award in appreciation of their efforts to expand access to STEM education for children across the region.
