Global built environment consultancy Arup has appointed Geeti Silwal as Americas Cities, Planning and Design Leader, placing her at the forefront of Arup’s integrated design services across the Americas region and helping public and private sector clients navigate the rapidly evolving challenges facing cities today. With more than two decades of experience shaping transformative city-building, urban design, and planning initiatives across the United States and internationally, Geeti brings a multidisciplinary perspective to the role.
She will unite the firm’s expertise in architecture, urban design, landscape architecture, urban planning, and transportation to shape the evolving relationship between people and place, as well as the interconnected systems that strengthen community resilience. Her leadership will support the creation of vibrant, future forward places that enhance quality of life, promote inclusive economic growth, and advance long-term environmental and social resilience.
Geeti joins Arup from Perkins&Will, where she served as Head of Urban Design for the West Coast Region, partnering with cities, regional agencies, private developers, and institutions on projects spanning innovation districts, equitable transit-oriented communities, waterfront redevelopments, mixed-use infill, and public realm improvements. At Arup, she will strengthen strategic client relationships, lead multidisciplinary pursuits and projects, and help grow the firm’s Cities, Planning and Design services across the Americas.
