SNYDER LANGSTON CHAIRMAN JOHN ROCHFORD TO RETIRE, TRANSITIONING EXECUTIVE LEADERSHIP TEAM
Snyder Langston, one of Southern California’s leading master builders, has announced the retirement of Chairman John Rochford, who will be retiring at the end of the year. His retirement caps a 10-year succession plan that puts in place the 65-year-old firm’s executive leadership team encompassing Jason Rich, Chief Executive Officer; Lee Watkins, President/COO; and Jo-E Lopez, Chief Relationship Officer.
Rochford joined Snyder Langston in 1985 as a Project Manager to lead construction of the Hazard Center in San Diego. Since that time the firm has become the premier builder for some of the region’s most prominent developers constructing many of Southern California’s most iconic properties including Oakley HQ, Pelican Hill Resort, Christ Cathedral, BeWell Orange, KIA HQ, The Boardwalk, Irvine Spectrum, and Hyundai HQ.
Underscoring Rochford’s industry legacy, he was recognized in 2024 by Vistage for its esteemed Member Excellence award citing his work in developing young leaders and desire to preserve the company’s legacy and culture.
Rochford along with Stephen Jones, Executive Chairman, developed and implemented a strategic succession plan to ensure Snyder Langston continues to be recognized as a trusted advisor for its clients and the industry.
Snyder Langston’s vast construction portfolio includes affordable housing, civic, faith-based, healthcare/behavioral health, multifamily, office, private education, retail, renovations, senior living, and entertainment studios as part of its three service lines including commercial, residential and Optym for special projects.
