THE EXCEPTIONAL CHILDREN’S FOUNDATION (ECF.NET) WELCOMES LARA KISLINGER TO ITS BOARD OF DIRECTORS.
Lara Kislinger has been an attorney with the Los Angeles County Public Defender’s Office for 18 years, where she advocates on behalf of indigent clients facing criminal charges and other deprivations of liberty. She brings extensive trial experience, including handling complex matters such as special circumstance murder cases, and has also litigated extensively in the appellate courts, including numerous arguments before the California Courts of Appeal.
Beyond the courtroom, Lara has contributed to criminal justice legislation and policy at both the state and county levels, with a particular focus on conservatorship, civil commitments, and post conviction relief. She is also a frequent presenter, providing trainings throughout California on topics including resentencing, compassionate release, and expert testimony.
Lara earned her undergraduate degree from Yale University and her law degree from Harvard Law School.
