Los Angeles – HKS Architects, Inc., ranked second in the nation by Building Design + Construction’s 2023 Giants Top Architecture Firm list, recently announced their annual promotions. The HKS Los Angeles office promoted one individual to Principal, two individuals to Vice President, and one individual to Associate.
Tooill
Joshua Tooill, AIA, LEED AP BD+C, WELL AP, was promoted to Principal and role of Sr. Designer. Joshua joined HKS in 2014 and brings 14 years of experience in the sports sector. He firmly believes in design’s ability to enhance the built environment and our well-being. Leveraging his background as a computational designer, licensed architect, and urban designer, Joshua specializes in designing sports venues and entertainment districts.
Acarón-Toro
Nicole Acarón-Toro AIA, NOMA, has been promoted to Vice President. Nicole, who joined HKS in 2018, boasts 13 years of experience, most of those in the hospitality sector. She leverages her previous exposure in smaller scale projects and firms to bring a personalized and tailored approach to all clients, regardless of the project’s complexity, with the attention to detail that hospitality projects require. She taps into creative design and problem solving throughout the entire project development to ensure a final product of outstanding quality that has a powerful impact on each individual and the community at large.
Winter
Robert Winter AIA, LEED AP BD+C, Associate DBIA, has also been promoted to Vice President. Robert, who joined HKS in 2018, brings 17 years of experience in the healthcare sector. He is committed to delivering the highest quality and most cost-effective design solutions to clients, with a focus on flexibility for future technologies in patient care.
Sigler
Cynthia Sigler has been promoted to Associate with a role as a designer. Cynthia, who joined HKS in 2019, has 6 years of experience in the commercial mixed-use sector. Cynthia is an architectural designer motivated by the impact that our built environment has, from the macro to the micro scale. In her work, she values a mix of collaboration, innovation, technical excellence, and efficiency. She always strives to contribute to the team in the highest and best way. She is also currently actively pursuing licensure.
Additionally, there were role promotions for Bill Corneli as Sustainable Design Leader for Hospitality, Brenda Vizcarra as Marketing Manager, Charlie Ford as Senior Technical Professional for Construction Specifications, Jonathan Bensick as Senior Project Manager, Michelle Stevenson as Regional Practice Director for Sports and Entertainment, Rachel Martinelli as Project Architect, and Seung Won as Design Professional II in Architecture.
