Sylvia Torres-Guillen of Andrade Gonzalez LLP has dedicated her career to addressing societal inequities and fighting for civil rights and social, racial, environmental, and economic justice. Beginning her career as a federal public defender for almost two decades, her praactice presently consists of complex commercial litigation, white-collar crimes, regulatory and corporate investigation matters, sexual harassment and employment discrimination, and catastrophic personal injury cases.
Torres-Guillen has significant experience in federal, state, criminal, and civil cases, including high-profile cases such as the first federal prosecution of an internet hate crime case. With 40 trials in federal court, she uses her commanding leadership skills and a tenacious spirit to achieve remarkable results; in two cases alone, she successfully obtained settlements totaling over $175 million. Representing and protecting the rights of some of the most marginalized and oppressed communities, Torres-Guillen has secured victories in federal and state courts.
