As recruiting partner at Michelman & Robinson, LLP, Lara Shortz has been integral to the expansion of M&R into Texas – this year, she helped to open branches in Dallas and Houston – and the addition of several new lawyers across offices. In addition, she was a key member of the team that vaulted M&R into the upper echelon of associate compensation. All the while, Shortz continues to build upon her extraordinary employment practice, representing some of the most admired companies in L.A.
Recently, Shortz has been involved in a slew of notable employment-related matters, including guiding major hotel chains through furloughs and subsequent rehires in the wake of COVID-19. This includes over 30 WARN Act layoffs and rehires pursuant to applicable right of recall laws. She coordinated national COVID-19-related regulations and policies for major hotel properties and defended multiple Fortune 100 and 500 companies in notable #MeToo litigation matters.
