Keri Curtis Axel practices white-collar criminal, government enforcement defense, and civil litigation. A former federal prosecutor and SEC enforcement attorney, Axel is a first-chair trial lawyer who helps clients navigate government investigations and fight criminal charges and has successfully litigated and argued many Ninth Circuit Appeals. Axel also draws on her extensive experience in tax, accounting, and the securities industry in representing executives, entrepreneurs, and financial services professionals and companies in FINRA matters and civil litigation.
Axel regularly provides insight into criminal and SEC investigations for the national media. Following government service, she was a solo practitioner and became a Waymaker partner in 2020. Axel brings an entrepreneurial mindset to her legal practice, leveraging technology to represent her clients efficiently and effectively. Among Axel’s recent matters has been her work representing Virgil Griffith in a high-profile prosecution based out of New York.
