As a partner at One LLP, an intellectual property and entertainment law firm, Jo Ardalan chairs One LLP’s Internet Law Practice Group, where she represents businesses, inventors and artists across many industries, from life sciences to rock bands to security innovators to photographers to film producers to AI visionaries to restaurateurs, in their copyright, trademark, trade secret, patent, defamation, right of publicity disputes and general business disputes.
In the courtroom, Ardalan recently successfully argued for the reversal of a $1.4 million punitive damage award in a case involving the rights to a television series, first-chaired a trial for a breach of contract dispute and received a defense verdict despite being retained on the eve of trial, and won a defense verdict in a right of publicity trial, among many other winning summary judgment motions and seven-figure settlements in favor of her clients.
