Daniel Prince is a partner in the Litigation Department of Paul Hastings. After nearly two decades with the firm, the last 12 months may have been his most successful yet. First, Prince led the Paul Hastings team to a complete victory for Rear Admiral Bruce Loveless (Ret.) in what has been described as the “worst corruption scandal” in the history of the US Navy.
Paul Hastings represented Adm. Loveless pre-trial and at trial, having reviewed approximately 14 million documents, prepared key motions, and participated in an evidentiary hearing during trial on the government’s withholding of exculpatory material (the court concluded that the lead prosecutor engaged in “flagrant misconduct”). The government obtained more than two dozen guilty pleas in this matter. Following a 15-week trial and approximately three weeks of deliberations, the jury returned convictions on four defendants but reached no verdict against Adm. Loveless.
