Construction executive Art Vasconcelos has devoted his career to shaping Los Angeles’ most notable structures, including the LA LIVE and Nokia Theater; the Los Angeles and Long Beach Courthouses; and three schools for the Los Angeles United School District. He is now overseeing the construction of the LACMA expansion, turning the vision for the new $750 million building for the Permanent Collection into reality.

Vasconcelos grew up with construction in his blood – both grandfathers worked in the industry. Upon graduation from USC, he joined Clark Construction as a young engineer on the LA LIVE project and witnessed how it revitalized the downtown area. Since then, he has not looked back, proud to build projects that help to transform his hometown. Over his 15-year career, Vasconcelos has tackled increasingly complex projects in Los Angeles worth over $1.9 billion and totaling over five million square feet.
