Alex Chan leads patent owners to maximize their chances inside and outside the courtroom. Inside the courtroom, Alex Chan’s most successful career accomplishments focus on individual startups and inventors who have limited financial means to protect their intellectual property against patent infringers. As a plaintiff’s lawyer, Chan gave small IP owners a voice to protect and enforce intellectual property licensing in a legal sector where financial resources often dictate success. In the past year, Chan has litigated two dozens of cases in the Central District of California and more than 40 across the country.
Outside the courtroom, Chan founded a legal analytics company called DataNovo, a company named as the “one to watch” by the Financial Times and awarded with several legal technology accolades. With DataNovo, Chan uses AI, machine learning, and neural network to automate patent landscape analysis, prior art searching, and invalidity contentions preparation.
