Ron Frierson is a visionary leader whose career bridges the public, private and nonprofit sectors with a singular focus on driving inclusive economic growth and environmental sustainability in LA. As director of economic development for the Western US at Amazon, Frierson oversees strategic investment, site selection, and public partnerships across five states.
Under Frierson’s leadership, Amazon deployed the company’s largest heavy-duty electric truck fleet at the Ports of Los Angeles and Long Beach and introduced same-day delivery via Amazon Pharmacy to increase local healthcare access. In 2024, Frierson was elected as the first black chair of the Los Angeles County Economic Development Corporation (LAEDC).
