Rasha Gerges Shields, with more than 20 years of experience, is a respected leader in the legal profession, a trusted advisor to companies and organizations, and a champion of diversity and racial justice. She has served as a first chair trial and appellate counsel in multiple matters, led sensitive independent and government investigations for significant clients and is actively involved in the community, including most recently having been appointed by Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass to serve on the Board of Police Commissioners, and having been appointed by the California Supreme Court Chief Justice Patricia Guerrero to serve as a member of the Supreme Court and Courts of Appeal Bias Prevention Committee.
At Jones Day, Shields has been defending companies and executives in high-stakes civil and criminal matters, including complex litigation and DOJ and State Attorneys General investigations. She also helps companies conduct internal investigations and develop compliance programs.
