Dr. Nima Nassiri, MD, made medical history in May 2025 by performing the world’s first human bladder transplant, quite an achievement in the short two years since his appointment at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA. The achievement has drawn national and international attention, positioning Los Angeles at the national forefront for urologic care and reconstructive transplantation. In addition to this groundbreaking work, Dr. Nassiri is a core member of the team pioneering immune-tolerance in kidney transplantation.
