O. Joe Hines, MD, FACS leads a team of over 160 surgeons and 120 trainees caring for patients at sites across Southern California. A recognized national leader in the field of surgery and pancreatic disease, Dr. Hines makes significant contributions to both clinical practice and medical education, with research that has resulted in over 240 publications. He oversees an established research program focusing on pancreatic carcinogenesis, with emphasis on the role of diet in the development of cancer. He currently serves as president of both the Society of University Surgeons and American Pancreatic Association Foundations.
