SARAH JACOBSON
President
Lamar Johnson Collaborative
As a founding member of the Lamar Johnson Collaborative (LJC), Sarah Jacobson was integral in growing the architectural design firm from a start-up of six people to nearly 40 in just a year and a half. When LJC was acquired by Clayco in 2019, she served as a core member of the transition team leading the merger between LJC’s design practice with Clayco’s existing design-build partner, BatesForum. LJC is now the full-service architecture and design arm of the Clayco enterprise with 350 professionals in five cities.
Jacobson relocated to LA to establish and lead LJC’s West Coast office in 2021. In an industry that counts only about 20% of its leadership as women, it was notable when she was named the first female president of LJC in 2022. Responsible for the overall leadership of the firm, Jacobson manages the delivery of design, staff development, revenue growth and profitability.
