For the past 35 years, the mission of Los Angeles “design evangelist” Julie D. Taylor, Hon. AIA, has been to educate the public about the benefits and importance of professional design and architecture. For 30 of those years, she has led the successful public relations and communications agency Taylor & Company, which she founded during the early 1990s recession. Taylor built the firm based on her background as a design writer, magazine editor, and director of public relations at the iconic Pacific Design Center in West Hollywood, bridging the gap between design professionals and the media.
Taylor & Company represents organizations engaged in ways to help people live, work, heal and learn in healthy and responsible buildings, interiors, cities and landscapes. Mindful of Los Angeles’ severe homelessness crisis, the firm has dedicated much of its talents toward promoting quality affordable and permanent supportive housing.
