Residential real estate agent David Kramer has left his role as president of Beverly Hills-based brokerage Hilton & Hyland, joining Compass.

“This move is about growing my business with a brokerage that has a vibrant and innovative vision,” Kramer said in a statement. “Compass has set new standards in the industry with its vast reach, collaborative culture and best-in-class technology. I’m thrilled to join this dynamic team and contribute to its ongoing success.”

He brings with him his six-person team and more than $1.7 billion in career sales.

“We are excited to welcome an industry leader like David to Compass,” Robert Reffkin, Compass’ chief executive and founder, said in a statement. “David and his team’s expertise and commitment to excellence for their clients pair well with the culture we have built, and I am excited about what we can accomplish together.”

Lori Hyland, the chair of Hilton & Hyland said in a statement that the company wished Kramer “the best in his next endeavor. We will soon have his replacement.”

Hilton & Hyland named Steve Katz its managing director. Katz was a primary services manager for Sotheby’s International Realty.

Next year’s California Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors has quite a few local ties. Maryam Brown, who is the incoming chief executive and president of downtown-based Southern California Gas Co., will serve as the board’s chair.

“I’m deeply honored to take on this role and work alongside the board and staff to champion California’s businesses and employers,” Brown said in a statement.

Brown also serves on the U.S. Department of Energy National Petroleum Council, on the board of Stifel Financial Corp. and is a trustee of the American Gas Foundation.

John Stowell, senior vice president at Burbank-based The Walt Disney Co., will serve as its first vice chair with Frank Washington, chief executive of Crossings TV in Sacramento serving as its second vice chair and Fiona Hutton, founder and chief executive of Studio City-based Fiona Hutton & Associates, serving as its third vice chair.
