Generation Z evidently has it pretty good in Inglewood – all good in the ‘wood, as locals say.
An analysis by the website SmartAsset indicates that Gen Z households in Inglewood have a median income of $81,069, which is 16.9% higher than the average of all households – $69,362 – in the city. This ranks it as the No. 8 city out of 24 nationwide in which Gen Z households outpace the median income of their communities as a whole. In California, Inglewood is the second highest city, behind No. 4 Moreno Valley. Generation Z is defined as ages 13-28.
Topping the list is Hollywood, but unfortunately in Florida, which has a median Gen Z income at $121,317. Lafayette, Louisiana – where I attended college and began my journalism career – was No. 24, with just a 0.2% advantage for Gen Z homes over the citywide population.
Locally, Thousand Oaks just missed the cut, with its median Gen Z household income of $137,806 being just 0.4% below the citywide median.

For the 14th year consecutive year, luxury realtor Christophe Choo participated in Hollywood-based Covenant House California’s annual Sleep Out fundraiser.
Choo, who works out of Coldwell Banker Realty’s Beverly Hills office, braved the rain on Thursday night through Friday morning with a beanie, sleeping bag and a few pieces of cardboard as is customary for the campaign. Since 2011, Covenant House has raised more than $10.3 million in support of its cause to provide shelter for children who are homeless.
“As a real estate professional, my work is rooted in one simple truth: home changes everything,” Choo said. “Yet for too many youths in Los Angeles, ‘home’ is something they’ve never truly known. Covenant House California changes that every single day.”

Just in time for the New Year, Planet Fitness has opened its 100th location – at the intersection of Crenshaw Boulevard and Slauson Avenue – in the Greater Los Angeles area.
Across Los Angeles, Orange, Riverside and San Bernardino counties, the gym company takes up 2 million square feet of retail space, according to the company. That’s good news for the reported 35.1% of Angelenos who engage in vigorous physical exercise at least once a week.
