Nimalka Wickramasekera is co-chair of Winston & Strawn’s Intellectual Property Practice and an IP litigator with over 15 years of trial and counseling experience. She began her career in the health care industry with a focus on biology and has a thriving medical device and technology practice, representing clients in connection with patent and licensing disputes. Wickramasekera also serves as co-chair of Winston’s Patent Trial and Appeals Board Practice and is a member of the firm’s Technology, Media, and Telecommunications and Health Care industry groups.
Wickramasekera has appeared in trials before district courts, the International Trade Commission and the PTAB. She represents or has represented Medtronic, Sientra, Alphatec, Teva Pharmaceuticals, Cisco, T-Mobile and Microsoft in patent and commercial litigation matters. She delivered client Teva Pharmaceuticals their first patent jury trial victory, clearing Teva of a $41 million patent
