J.C. André has demonstrated his commitment to the local Los Angeles community in his legal and civic work throughout his career. As the co-chair of BCLP’s Appellate and Supreme Court practice, André has raised the practice’s visibility with a steady stream of articles featuring his prominent cases and is often quoted in legal publications for his expertise, invigorat- ed the practice by hiring a dozen appellate specialists over the past two years, and thereby created a national appellate hub for the firm and from which the whole firm benefits.
Between private practice and government, André has personally briefed and/or argued hundreds of distinct appeals before the US Supreme Court, various US Circuit Courts of Appeals, the California Supreme Court and the California Court of Appeal, including dozens of briefs and three arguments before the US Supreme Court, and over 100 briefs and 45 arguments before the Ninth Circuit.
