In mid-March 2020, news of the novel coronavirus in the U.S.—and an onslaught of stay-at-home orders—suddenly changed the face of the domestic workplace. In the blink of an eye, employees across industries shifted gears and set up shop at kitchen tables and home offices nationwide, as remote work became a necessary tool to combat the spread of COVID-19.
Fast-forward, and the pandemic appears to be waning. With that, business operations have normalized throughout the country; nonetheless, a significant contingent of employees here in Los Angeles and beyond are clamoring for a more flexible workplace for the long-term—be it one that allows employees to work off-site entirely or welcomes hybrid schedules with certain days at the office and others telecommuting. Many employers are listening and reassessing the traditional nine-to-five model.
In “Navigating the New Flexible/Hybrid Workplace: A Roadmap for Employers,” a virtual live webinar hosted by the Los Angeles Business Journal, employment law pros from Michelman & Robinson, LLP will lead a discussion about remote work and what employers with off-site employees should keep top-of-mind to optimize workplace efficiencies, productivity and connectivity.
