Mitra Esfandiari, AIA is the first woman principal and partner at Long Beachbased architecture, planning, and interiors firm RDC, and leader of its rapidly growing mixed-use practice area. She has achieved this senior leadership role in the profession of architecture where only 12% of women make it to top positions with significant firms and further was the first woman principal at RDC. She has risen to be a senior principal of the firm, one of four partners and a member of the firm’s board of directors. She is instrumental in firm-wide decisions at the highest level, including decisions about finance, strategic planning, staffing and culture.
As a principal and partner, Esfandiari is responsible for the mixed-use practice area, which is of critical strategic importance to RDC. She is passionate about mentoring other women and believes that women should help one another to achieve their dreams.
