Jonathan Shin represents hospitals, laboratories, medical device manufacturers and other healthcare providers in arbitrations and state and federal court actions throughout the country. Shin also defends providers against government investigations of fraud and abuse. He counsels and represents companies in matters involving managed care, insurance, fraud and abuse, e-discovery, trade secrets and intellectual property. He has been a member of and led trial and arbitration teams in matters that resulted in favorable outcomes for his clients.
Shin is representing Vituity, the largest emergency physician staffing company in California, in two lawsuits against large health plans, regarding alleged substantial underpayments for out-of-network emergency physician services. He is also representing hospitals in a complex case against the County of Santa Clara dba Valley Health Plan. The case alleges substantial underpayments by an out-of-network county-run California- licensed health plan, for hospital services rendered.
