JASON TOKORO
Partner
Miller Barondess, LLP
Jason Tokoro is an accomplished trial lawyer with significant victories for both plaintiffs and defendants. He obtained a $120 million settlement on behalf of LA County against SoCalGas stemming from the Aliso Canyon gas leak. He also spearheaded LA County’s enforcement of Governor Newsom’s COVID-19 emergency health orders and defended lawsuits challenging these orders, including contact-tracing, stayat-home, and indoor service restrictions. He secured TROs against the Cities of Norwalk and Bell Gardens for refusing to cooperate with Project Roomkey, Governor Newsom’s program enacted to book homeless individuals into hotels during the pandemic.
Tokotro won a summary judgment on behalf of LA County in a FLSA class action lawsuit relating to the State’s IHSS program, in which plaintiffs sought nearly $50 million – which ended up being named the Daily Journal’s “Top Defense Verdict” of 2020. Tokoro is also a mentor to the firm’s young lawyers.
