David Song is a public finance attorney in the Los Angeles office of Nixon Peabody LLP. In his practice, he represents states, counties, cities, school districts, large nonprofit organizations, underwriters, and borrowers on a variety of infrastructure and capital improvement finance transactions. He has worked with some of the largest issuers in California, such as the State of California, the City of Los Angeles, the Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority, and The Metropolitan Water District of Southern California.
In Song’s work, many of the bond financings support large affordable housing and homelessness in Los Angeles and nationally. One recent transaction for the City of Los Angeles involved its 2022 General Obligation Bonds, designated as Social Bonds. The Social Bonds provide safe, clean, affordable housing for the homeless and those in danger of becoming homeless, such as battered women and their children, veterans, seniors, foster youth, and the disabled.
