Apartner at Irell & Manella LLP, Annita Zhong focuses on patent litigation, contested patent office proceedings and licensing in the U.S., the European Union and China. She has deep experience litigating before federal and state courts, the International Trade Commission, arbitral panels and the Patent Trial and Appeal Board.
Before law school, Dr. Zhong was a senior research scientist at General Electric’s Global Research Center in Niskayuna, New York. Her engineering and research background enables her to digest new technologies quickly and has proven valuable in delivering significant victories for clients in complex litigation. She is well versed in technical areas such as semiconductor fabrication and packaging, computer architecture, telecommunications, artificial intelligence, renewable energy, and chemicals and materials. Among recent victories, Dr. Zhong was a principal member of the team that secured a $300 million jury award for PanOptis in a patent suit against Apple.
