Sullivan & Cromwell litigation partner Adam Paris advises clients on a variety
of complex business litigation matters, particularly those involving antitrust/unfair competition, trade secrets, mergers & acquisitions and securities litigation. He has firstchaired civil jury and bench trials and handled domestic and international arbitrations. Paris’ antitrust practice has included the defense of private class action litigation, criminal investigations by the Department of Justice, and merger clearances (including four multi-billion dollar transactions) before the Federal Trade Commission or Department of Justice.
Among Paris’ recent achievements has been his work advising Abiomed in antitrust aspects of its $18 billion merger agreement with Johnson & Johnson—the largest announced all-cash acquisition in the MedTech sector, announced this November. He also led the S&C team that advised the Canadian cannabis company Cronos Group in one of the first cross-border U.S.-Canadian investigations into the financial accounting of a cannabis company.
