Kristen L. Richer is a partner in Barnes & Thornburg’s Los Angeles office and is an accomplished product liability and class action defense attorney. In March 2026, the firm named her chairelect of its 275-lawyer Litigation Department — a role she will assume in November, making her the first Los Angeles-based attorney to lead the practice.
Richer’s practice focuses on defending the manufacturers, distributors, and retailers of major pharmaceutical, medical device, consumer health and beauty, and retail products across the full spectrum of consumer litigation. She has represented clients in some of the nation’s most significant multi-district litigations and coordinated proceedings, serving in formal leadership roles that few attorneys achieve.
