Kate Kraus of Covington & Burling LLP is nationally recognized and has more than 20 years of experience in tax planning and structuring. She advises on a wide range of partnership, corporate, and real estate matters, including joint ventures, fund formations, financing transactions, mergers and acquisitions, restructurings, liquidations, debt workouts, bankruptcies, and REIT transactions.
Among her recent successes, Kraus recently advised on the restructuring of a platform joint venture that holds approximately $2.5 billion of real property, and she is currently restructuring two foreign partnerships, one of which holds over $8 billion of pharmaceutical assets. She has also advised on the eligibility for and transfers of over $1 billion in energy tax credits under the Inflation Reduction Act.
