Wafaa Alrashid, MD was raised by her Iraqi father and Egyptian mother in Utah and knew at a young age that she wanted to be a doctor. She completed her residency at Huntington Hospital in 2007, became chief resident, then joined the Academic Hospitalist Medical Group (now Huntington Aligned Medical Group). She was a hospitalist for over eight years, and in 2015 she opened her practice at Huntington’s Pasadena-Congress office.
For over a decade, Dr. Alrashid has been on the faculty of Huntington’s Internal Medicine Residency Program, and in 2023, she became the program’s director. In January 2025, she was elected chief of medical staff for Huntington Hospital, leading a medical staff of more than 1,000 physicians who serve the San Gabriel Valley.
