Lara Khouri joined Children’s Hospital Los Angeles (CHLA) in 2015 and throughout her career has been a tireless advocate for child health. Under Khouri’s leadership, CHLA has become the market leader in pediatric care in Los Angeles County, marked by a 50% growth in market share since 2015, and market leadership in cancer, heart, neurosciences and orthopedics.
Khouri’s team also developed a novel service line of behavioral health in 2022, coalescing CHLA psychological and therapeutic programs into the Behavioral Health Institute at a time when youth across the country were reeling from the mental health crisis that emerged from the pandemic. Additionally, under Khouri’s leadership, The Saban Research Institute of CHLA expanded to support more than 350 funded scientists and physician scientists.
