Johnese Spisso is a nationally recognized academic healthcare leader with 40 years of experience in the field. She was recruited to the position of president of UCLA Health, CEO of UCLA Hospital System and associate vice chancellor of UCLA Health Sciences in 2016.
Spisso is responsible for all aspects of UCLA’s health system and the regional outreach strategy in the local, state, national and international programs. She also oversees UCLA Health’s community partnerships with the Los Angeles Lakers, Chargers, Sparks and others, working to collaboratively improve equitable access to healthcare. Spisso’s foundation as a critical-care nurse with a front-line level of knowledge served as a lens for her as she rose in administrative and leadership roles.
