Finality Capital Partners, a blockchain-focused venture firm based in Beverly Hills, led a $3.5 million seed funding round in the artificial intelligence blockchain startup ChainOpera, the startup announced in late December.

Together, ChainOpera and its sister company, TensorOpera, have raised $17 million. Additional lead investors included Road Capital, China-based IDG Capital and the University of Southern California.

ChainOpera AI, a Sunnyvale-based company, developed a blockchain network that allows developers to create AI applications using a slew of open resources. Users are able to access those applications and tweak them to their needs while, the company said, continuing to have control over their personal data.

Finality Capital Partners began in 2021 and is helmed by Adam Winnick, the founder of Web3 community Medici Network, and Kamal Mokeddem, who founded crypto-asset trading platform Omniex Holdings, which was later acquired by Alphabet Inc.’s Gemini. The firm exclusively focuses on investments in the Web3 and blockchain space.

Finality Capital Partners has invested in more than 50 companies, including Pasadena-based Krypton, an exchange platform, and Santa Monica-based Tokemak, a fintech platform designed to assist trading cryptocurrency and digital assets.
