Crawley was appointed chief executive of online deal discovery platform Slickdeals LLC at the beginning of the year, after about a year as its president. The company began as a newsletter in 1999 and has since evolved into forum-functional platform with an online community of users sharing deals. Slickdeals has more than 10 million monthly active users and partnerships with Walmart Inc., Adidas AG, Dell Inc., eBay Inc., Macy’s, Recreation Equipment Inc. and more.
What’s your favorite movie, all time and in any category?
Sorry Hollywood but, as a Brit, “Monty Python and the Holy Grail” is still my all-time favorite movie. Never fails to brighten my mood.
What’s at the top of your bucket list?
Top of my bucket list is a type of Zen meditation silent retreat called a Sesshin where you meditate 12 to 16 hours a day for seven days straight.
What was your first car?
I’ve never owned a car. I don’t even have a driver’s license!
Would you like to have it back?
To be honest I thought the future of autonomous vehicles and flying cars was going to arrive faster that it has … so, maybe knowing what I know now, I would go back in time and learn to drive.
What’s the best thing about living in Los Angeles?
I’m back and forth between the San Francisco Bay Area and L.A. as we have offices in both. Based on that, the best thing about living in L.A. is Burbank airport. Seriously, the best airport in America.
