President, Chief Executive, AltaSea at the Port of Los Angeles
Tamminen is the president and chief executive of AltaSea at the Port of Los Angeles, a 34-acre ocean technology hub that’s the nation’s largest blue economy center, which he has led in securing more than $24 million of government funding over the last two years. AltaSea completed a $30 million renovation project this year to transform three historic warehouses into a campus for research, education, workforce and development and innovation around ocean-based solutions to climate change.

Focus on the good, do what is needed of you on the bad, and don’t sweat the stuff out of your control!
What’s your favorite movie, all time and in any category?
“Terminator,” because it stars my friend Arnold Schwarzenegger, but also because it was more prescient than we ever imagined!

Finding the lost letters of William Shakespeare that I was secretly shown 40 years ago in London.
