For nearly 11 years, Brown has been a government and regulatory partner at the Century City headquarters of Manatt, Phelps & Phillips LLP. Formerly the California state treasurer, Brown also worked for more than 12 years at Goldman Sachs, where she was chair of Midwest investment banking and participated in more than $4.2 billion in bond financing for water and power projects in the state. She also previously worked for Bank of America. She sits on the board of directors for community development firm FivePoint and once mounted a gubernatorial bid; her father, Pat Brown, and brother, Jerry Brown, were both California governors.
