In 2019, Sprengel was named chief executive and president of the Southern California Division of CommonSpirit Health, previously Dignity Health; her territory has since expanded to all of California. Sprengel oversees nearly 40,000 employees and 10,000 physicians, encompassing 31 acute-care hospitals, one behavioral health hospital and hundreds of ambulatory care sites.

Never be afraid to speak up, but choose your words carefully.
What was your first car? Would you like to have it back?
My first car in high school was a bright blue Honda Civic. May it forever rest in peace.
What’s your favorite movie of all time?
That’s a tough one. I’d have to select “Hidden Figures.”
