Bagdasarian founded Intrepid in 2010 and continues to lead the firm even after its acquisition by MUFG in 2019 for an undisclosed amount. The Brentwood-based firm specializes in advising mergers and acquisitions, capital raising and strategic advisory for mid-sized companies. In his role, Bagdasarian originates and manages transactions across industries such as consumer, health care, manufacturing and business services. Prior to founding Intrepid, Bagdasarian co-founded Barrington Associates, a corporate financial advisory service. In 2006 Wells Fargo acquired the firm as a means to expand into middle-market investment banking. Bagdasarian was born and raised in Romania and immigrated to Los Angeles with his family in 1979. He attended Fairfax High School and went to UCLA where he studied business and economics.

What’s the best advice you ever got?
Always do the right thing and don’t be your own worst enemy.

What’s your favorite movie, all time and in any category?
“Papillon” (with Steve McQueen and Dustin Hoffman).

What’s at the top of your bucket list?
Don’t have a bucket list — I don’t look at life as a checklist.

What was your first car?
1978 Toyota Celica.

Like to have it back?
The memory is probably better than the car.

What’s the best thing about living in Los Angeles?
I can run every morning outdoor all year round.
