Eghbali co-founded Santa Monica-based Clearlake Capital in 2006 and led its growth to become the second-largest investment firm headquartered in Los Angeles. According to the Business Journal’s Wealthiest Angelenos ranking, Eghbali is worth approximately $4.1 billion. His firm, with over $75 billion in assets, has led or co-led over 400 investments across technology, industrials and consumer sectors. Two years ago, Clearlake Capital acquired the Premier League’s Chelsea Football Club. Eghbali was born in Iran and moved to the U.S. when he was young, ultimately attending Haas School of Business at UC Berkeley. He started his career in the mergers and acquisitions group at Jefferies Broadview and in the technology group at Morgan Stanley & Co. In addition to running Clearlake, Eghbali serves on the boards of portfolio companies including InvestCloud, Quest, Discovery Education and Victory Live.
