Klippsten founded the bitcoin financial services firm Swan Bitcoin in 2019, and last year the firm reported it deployed more than $200 million as it expands its institutional offerings. He is partner in Bitcoiner Ventures, El Zonte Capital and the Bitcoin Opportunity Fund. As an angel investor, Klippsten has funded over 60 early-stage tech companies. Prior to joining the startup world, Klippsten worked for Google, McKinsey, Microsoft and Morgan Stanley.

What’s the best advice you ever got?
Don’t give anyone control over your calendar. If it’s not worth your time to schedule the meeting, it’s not worth your time to take it.

What’s your favorite movie, all time and in any category?
Sometimes, there’s a movie, well, it’s the movie for its time and place. It fits right in there. And that’s “The Big Lebowski,” in Los Angeles.

What’s at the top of your bucket list?
I just want to see my daughters grow up so I can see what they’re like.

What was your first car?
’89 Integra, manual transmission, automatic windows for conversations frequently requested by highway patrol.

Like to have it back?
I wish! So much fun.

What’s the best thing about living in Los Angeles?
It’s the only warm, dry coastline in the most powerful nation in the history of Earth. Tough to beat.
