Yu founded Preferred Bank to serve the Chinese American community in 1991. In January of this year, the bank reported $6.7 billion in assets under management. Prior to Preferred Bank, Yu served as chairman of California Pacific National Bank. He received his MBA from the UCLA Anderson School of Management, and is a member of the business school’s Board of Visitors. Yu has also been the president of the National Association of Chinese American Bankers.
