Vienna Gonzales is project manager for the construction of Sankofa Park, the centerpiece of the 1.3-mile outdoor cultural museum, Destination Crenshaw. Celebrating the history and culture of Black Los Angeles, Destination Crenshaw will stand as a cultural hub for years to come and a beautiful visual from LA Metro’s K Line.
Sankofa Park is a unique project with a goal to leverage construction spending to invest in the economic development of the local community. Gonzales and the project team executes on ambitious local hire goals that aim to remove barriers and create equitable access to high-paying construction careers, contracts certified firms and supports the local community through outreach and engagement. The Destination Crenshaw project stands as a shining example of an innovative approach to critical infrastructure development. Simply put, Gonzales’ role is a unique one in which she is paving the way for a better future.
