As the executive director of the Griffith Observatory Foundation, the exclusive non-profit development partner for the iconic Griffith Observatory, Ann Marie Bedtke is highly regarded for her unwavering commitment and bold leadership. In partnership with Griffith Observatory and the City of Los Angeles, Recreation and Parks Department, Bedtke ensures the Foundation supports and promotes the Observatory as an unparalleled destination that provides free public access to inspire curiosity and science literacy through one of-a-kind astronomical experiences for generations to come.
Bedtke always looks for ways to innovate and create opportunities to bring Griffith Observatory’s mission to life. Her recent achievements include the development of a strategic plan for the Observatory and Foundation through when the Olympics will hosted in Los Angeles in 2028 and a collaboration between Hollywood animators, visual effects professionals and tech organizations to produce and launch the new “Signs of Life” Planetarium experience.
