The Century City office of Morgan, Lewis & Bockius LLP has added a five-lawyer labor team to its roster, representing a significant boost for the Philadelphia-based firm’s nationwide labor group.
The new team includes partner Adam Abrahms, of counsel Elizabeth Bright, and associates Maria Arroyo, Neresa De Biasi and Juan Larios. Morgan Lewis picked up the team from the Century City office of Epstein, Becker & Green, where Abrahms co-chaired the labor-management relations practice and served on the board of directors.
“I’ve built my practice on the promise of strategic, thoughtful, and responsive representation, with the goal of delivering nothing but the best,” Abrahms said in a statement. “In joining Morgan Lewis, I feel confident I will continue to do just that, bring the best to my clients. In addition to the strength of its labor-management relations, Morgan Lewis’s expanding depth in California and across the West Coast will ensure we are able to aid in navigating the ever-changing legal landscape and defend employers.”
Abrahms and his team represent employers in collective bargaining negotiations and campaigns, as well as those involved in unfair labor proceedings with the National Labor Relations Board and related state agencies. He said Morgan Lewis offered “unparalleled capabilities” in building his practice that enticed him to make the move, and that the future looks to keep him particularly busy.
“Employers are facing numerous local, state, and federal rule changes and highly coordinated union campaigns that will have far-reaching implications for how they do business,” Abrahms added.
This new team is among several other additions the firm has made nationally to its labor-management practice, which includes three former NLRB members. Abrahms and his team focus on health care clients.
“Adam’s capable handling of complex situations, both at the negotiating table and in the courtroom, bolsters our strong labor-management relations team,” said Grace Speights, leader of the firm’s global labor and employment practice. “The team is a welcome strategic addition on the West Coast, bringing deep ties to the health care industry and its unique challenges.”
